🎲 Don’t Get Angry (Prototype)

A real-time, card-based twist on Ludo.

Don’t Get Angry is a multiplayer board game inspired by Ludo — but instead of taking turns, players act in real time using an energy system.

Play cards, move your pawns, block opponents, and try to get all your pieces home before anyone else.

⚠️ Prototype Notice

This is an early prototype. Expect rough edges, missing polish, and some unclear UX.

I’m mainly testing whether the core gameplay loop is fun.

🕹️ How to Play

Goal: get all your pawns from start to home before your opponents.

Instead of rolling dice, you use cards. You can play cards whenever you have enough energy.

🎴 Card Targeting (Important!)

This is currently the most confusing part, so here’s how it works:

  • Pawn / Reverse / Freeze → Tap the board and the effect will apply.
  • Barrier → Tap one of your own pawns to protect it for a few seconds.
  • Move (1–6) → Tap one of your own pawns to move it forward.
  • Retrograde → Tap an enemy pawn to move it backwards.
  • Vortex  → Tap any pawn to teleport to a random board position
  • Synergy  Tap one of your own pawns to move forward 2 spaces for every other active pawn you have
  • Switcheroo  Tap one an enemy pawn to swap your trailing pawn

When a pawn is a valid target, it gets a subtle highlight/border.

⚡ Energy System

  • Energy regenerates automatically.
  • Each card costs energy.
  • There are no turns — everything happens in real time.
  • Managing tempo is part of the strategy.

🧱 Deck Building

Before starting a match, you can customize your deck.

Each deck consists of:

  • 4 Pawn cards
  • 8 additional cards of your choice

How to edit your deck:

  • Tap a card in your deck to remove it.
  • Tap a card from the list below to add it.

Cards are drawn randomly during the match.

(Deck builder UX is still very prototype-level.)

🤖 Single Player Mode

There is a very basic AI mode so you can test the game alone. It’s not very smart yet, but it’s useful for learning the mechanics.

💬 Feedback Wanted

I’m especially interested in feedback about:

  • Does the real-time system work?
  • Does the pacing feel exciting or repetitive?
  • Is anything unclear or frustrating?
  • What would make it feel more dynamic?

All feedback is welcome 🙏
